The "I Love Ibaraki" festival is held in October and it has a small but prominent international component . There are fun attractions and booths that promote international exchange within Ibaraki Prefecture. Over two days, "I Love Ibaraki" draws an excess of 140, 000 people, and the international booths are some of the more popular attractions.

People in Ibaraki reach out to the world in many ways. And various cultures across the globe have become part of every day life in Ibaraki. Both of these aspects of internationalization are viewable during the festival. The festival offers you a chance to see, taste, hear, smell, and touch, the diverse ways in which Ibaraki and the world have come together. Food, beverages, music, dancing, and games are a part of action. For example the British tent a few years ago made huge juicy bacon and egg sandwiches and sold them for 500 yen. The New Zealanders made New Zealand burgers. Numerous beverages from various countries are on sale. The New Zealanders may sell honey. The Canadians may sell maple syrup. And there's usually lots of free stuff to hand out to eager festivalgoers.
