FY 2012 Job Opportunities for Overseas Student Coordinator for International Relations (OSCIR) at Tsukuba City Hall (updated: Dec. 15, 2011)

With the help of overseas student coordinators, Tsukuba City is involved in many multicultural projects including publication of foreign language newsletters. Curretly, we are recruiting overseas student coordinators for FY2012.

Job Description:
The main duty of OSCIR is to publish a monthly newsletter in OSCIR's native language. The bulk of the work lies in translating the Japanese articles into your language; followed by formatting, editing, printing and preparing the newsletter for distribution. Additional duties may include translating and interpreting for the city in its promotion of international relations.


Eligibility - Applicant must meet ALL of the following requirements:
1) Alien Registration in Tsukuba
2) Enrolled at a college, university, or graduate school until at least March 31st, 2013 (excludes auditing student)
3) Interested in International relations and volunteering
4) Able to communicate fluently in Japanese
5) Computer skills
6) Excel at translating and interpreting to and from Japanese


Term:
April 1st, 2012 to March 31st, 2013


Recruiting Languages:
English, Chinese, Korean, Thai, Portuguese and Spanish


How to Apply:
Fill out the designated application form in Japanese and attach a photo (4cm x 3cm) taken within 3 months.
Please make sure to send in the following documents along with the application form:
- Student registration certificate
- Photocopy of Alien Registration card (both sides required)
- Photocopy of Student ID

You can submit the application form in person at Tsukuba City Hall (Globalization and Culture Division, 2F Counter 39) or send by mail.


Application Deadline:
5pm on Monday, January 23, 2012
*If you are applying by mail, the application must reach us by the deadline.

Screening Method:
1) Primary Selection: Candidates' applications are reviewed.
2) Final Selection: Translation test and interview will be held on February 9th or February 10th, 2012 (Date will be designated).
*Time and location for the test and the interview will be notified to those who pass the Primary Selection.
