Bilingual Programming

It is sometimes possible to watch television in bilingual mode. To receive these programs, you need a multiplex receiver or VCR.

TV Receiving Fee

NHK is a national broadcasting station maintained by collecting fees. People who own TV sets (watch NHK programs) are expected to pay this fee. You can pay directly to a bill collector or through a transfer account.

Cable TV

If you want cable TV, please contact ACCS.

Satellite Broadcasting

There is also satellite broadcasting, where you can watch a range of programs from all over the world. You can receive these services with a special antenna and tuner. Applications for satellite broadcasting can be made at electric appliances stores.

Local Information

Tsukuba Information is on Channel 9 everyday at 7:30am, 10am, 12 noon, 6pm, & 8pm for 15 minutes. The broadcast is in Japanese.
