To improve the secondary transport system and to decrease burden on the environment, Tsuku Bus has been reduced to 6 routes and the new service Tsuku Taku (Shared Taxi) began on April 1, 2011.
TSUKU BUS routes are as follows:
1. Hokubu Shuttle: From Tsukuba Center - Tsukuba Sanguchi
2. Oda Shuttle: From Tsukuba Center - Tsukuba Madoguchi Center
3. Sakuoka Shuttle: From Kenkyugakuen Station - Teragu
4. Yoshinuma Shuttle: From Tsukuba Center - Yoshinuma
5. Nambu Shuttle: From Tsukuba Center - Kukizaki Madoguchi Center
6. Jiyugaoka Shuttle: From Kenkyugakuen Station - Fujimidai
* Operation Hours : 6:00am-10:00pm
* Fee: 200-400yen (depening on the distance traveled)
* Connecting tickets available: enables transfer to different Tsuku Bus, Tsuku Taku (within district) or routed bus with a maximum fee of 200 yen (9am - 5pm)
* Multiple tickets also available (get 11 tickets for the price of 10)
* Commuter passes (work, study, one-way) can be used
* Discount available for:
TSUKU TAKU
* Tsuku Taku will be in operation within Tsukuba city.
* Service Hours: 9:00am-5:00pm, Mon-Fri (closed on public holidays and Dec.29-Jan.3)
* Fee: 300yen for one way trip within the district
* Districts: 6 districts
* Extra fee: 1300-2600yen for travel outside district (only in central City areas)
* Tickets: Purchase ticketts at designated places beforehand (NOT sold inside Tsuku Taku)
* Stops: Same stops as Tsuku Bus (must register if you wish to get off in front of your house)
* Connecting tickets available: enables transfer to different Tsuku Bus, Tsuku Taku (within district) or routed bus with a maximum fee of 200 yen (9am - 5pm)
* Discount available for:

* To register your home for Tsuku Taku pick-up, fill out and submit form available on the 1st floor of the City Hall. (fee-1000 yen per registeration)
* Senior Travel Discount Certificate issued at Citizens Division services counter, Senior Services Division
* Bus Map for Tsukuba City is available at the reception desk on the 1st floor of the city hall, Information Corner, service counters, and community centers. The district circulars and homepage will show more detailed information.
