The Airport Liner NATT'S (direct bus) leaves Tsukuba Bus Terminal for New Tokyo International Airport (Narita). It takes about 100 minutes. One-way ticket costs 2,540 yen per adult and 1,270 yen per child (as of May 2010). While it may be possible to get a ticket on the day you travel, it is strongly recommended that you reserve your seat on the bus to avoid any mishaps. *It is not necessary to reserve seats on the return trip from Narita to Tsukuba.
The bus operates between Narita Airport and Tsuchiura Station, via Tsukuba Center. It is not necessary to make reservations when travelling from the airport to Tsukuba. You can buy the tickets at the Keisei Counter on the first floor of the arrival lobby of the airport.
Tickets from Tsukuba to the airport require reservations and the passengers are supposed to book and pay for their tickets till 3 days before the travel at the latest. Reservations accepted one month in advance at "Kanto Tetsudo Tsukuba Gakuen Service Center" inside the Tsukuba Center Bus Terminal. (*opens 8:39-19:00 on weekdays, 9:00-18:00 on Sun & NH) If there's any vacant seat, the ticket for the vacancy is available on the day of the departure.
Please note that if you take this bus, the earliest you can arrive in Narita is 7:45am and the latest you can leave from Narita is 20:10pm (as of May 2010). If you have to catch an early flight, or if you arrive on a later flight, you may not be able to use this service.
